Digital transformation of NGOs in Yakutia: a condition for sustainable development of the Arctic region

The article presents a general description of the digital transformation of the NGO sector of the republic on the example of the implementation of the project of the Union of Women’s Public Organizations of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) «Digital transformation of the Women’s Councils of Yakutia». As a result of the study of digital competencies of representatives of NGOs in the Arctic regions of Yakutia, the problems faced by the third sector during digitalization have been identified. According to the results of the research within the framework of the project «Digital transformation of the Women’s Councils of Yakutia», representatives of NGO organizations, activists of the women’s movement of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) revealed 57.3% - NGOs with an average level of digitalization, having the I level (basic) of information openness and promotion of NGOs. The active use of information and communication and digital technologies has fully allowed public organizations to quickly rebuild during the pandemic, in 2020-2021, and make their work more open. The implementation of the project «Digital transformation of the Women’s Councils of Yakutia» increased the organizational stability of 315 women’s public organizations, helped to widely highlight the work of women’s councils in the field, attracted the population to socially useful activities and became a support for the development of the women’s movement in the republic. The further development of digitalization and the introduction of advanced high-tech solutions should make the life of citizens of the Arctic regions more convenient and modern, and in general contribute to the sustainable development of the economy of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia).
