THE CONCEPT «WORD» IN THE TRADITIONAL BELIEF SYSTEMOF THE YUKAGHIRS

Abstract

This article is devoted to the description of the concept of the word in the context of the traditional worldview of the Yukaghirs, representing an important aspect of their spiritual culture. Tapping into the practice of the functioning of the Yukaghir spiritual culture gives invaluable clues to understanding culture, searching for ways of preserving and developing traditional culture, caring for the natural environment, and the influence of the traditional worldview on the development of culture as a whole. Through the concept of the word, the socio-historical determination of stable positive trends is revealed, affecting the formation of the spiritual culture of the Yukaghir people, the awareness of not only the material, but also the spiritual foundation, which determines the state of being, changes taking place in modern society. According to the researchers, the image of the worldview is embedded in the concept of the word, as a reflection of a person’s knowledge of the world and as a way of perception, transmission of its ideological perspective about the world around. The study of the concept of the words of the Yukaghir language makes it possible to gain an insight in the inner world of the native speaker of this language throughout its entire cultural and historical experience and, on the basis of the diversity of the meaning of words laid down by it as the creator of cultural values, to show the authentic worldview of the Yukaghir ethnic group fixed in the word.
